Angie Pye, CEO of the Beacon Center, said, “We are really excited to be working with Debbie Darino and The Ponce Animal Foundation to fund kennels at our facility. It is very common for us to receive calls from survivors hoping to flee but unable to leave their pet for fear the perpetrator will harm them. There is a strong correlation between pet abuse and domestic violence and child abuse.”
